Surface Preparation
Ensure all surfaces are sound, clean and dry before painting. Note that sleek, porous or absorbent surfaces must first be fixed with Mauvilith Sealer; and normally absorbent with a coating of white Primacryl diluted, for the first coat, with 10%. Rough or irregular surfaces should first be dressed with a filler coating such as Inafil. Allow drying and sand to obtain a level surface. Dust carefully and then fix with Mauvilith Sealer. Apply a coat of white Primacryl, diluted with 10% water.  Furniture, woodwork, particle board, must be prepared using Wood Primer then sanded and dusted.

Application Method

After the application of Primacryl, apply the first coat of Carrare with a stainless putty knife. As you go along, don’t forget to lightly scrape off any excess to avoid ridges. Apply a second coat but with shorter rounded uneven strokes to create the marbled effect. Allow the paint to set and polish with a clean and dry stainless putty knife to bring out the lustre. To do this, you must hold the knife at 30-40º angle and scrub the surface lightly. Do this repeatedly, exerting gentle pressure, and the lustre will come out rapidly and effortlessly. Don’t forget to remove any excess from the knife regularly with a clean and dry cloth. If the work needs corrections, sand it lightly with fine sanding paper (800-1000) and proceed with retouching the required areas with a clean knife. Allow to set and repeat the polishing process. Depending on the type of surface, it might be necessary to apply additional coats to obtain a denser marble effect. Proceed in the same way as for the previous ones until final polishing. Once it is dry at heart, Carrare is very resistant to water. You can also wax it or coat it with a water-based varnish for additional protection and enhance its resistance to water or abrasion. Before applying any protective coating, carefully check whether these do not mess with textured paint on a small surface before coating it all. If Carrare has been covered with such protective coatings, before any retouching or renovation, it will be necessary to sand the surface prior to proceeding.

Sahel is an absolutely fascinating textured coating. It speaks of the whistling and whispering winds blowing across the sea of sands of the Sahel desert. When Sahel blows across your walls, working its magic, everyone gets blown away. Sahel triggers the immemorial attraction exerted by nomadic life. The sun at its zenith there where Arabia and Africa come to meet point; Tuaregs traveling across ages over dunes and moons, relentlessly walking on with nothing but the desert horizon in view. Natura’s Sahel is that yellow windswept landscape, infinitely mobile yet seemingly immutable. Sahel’s softly brushed and sensual texture feels like the fine desert sand unhurriedly flowing through the hand. With Sahel the timeless ethnic spirit of the nomadic peoples of the desert enters your home through its walls to call out to your imagination.

Both coats may also be applied vertically or horizontally or else the second coat may be applied at random in a criss-cross manner. An application might take between 30 to 60 minutes for best results. It is highly recommended to test the application method beforehand and once the method has been chosen, it is compulsory to stick to it for the whole surface to ensure best results.

After the application of Primacryl, apply a first coat of Emae with a long-bristle roller or a brush. Make sure the first coat is uniformly applied. Allow to dry. For the second coat, a whole choice of end results can be obtained depending on the application equipment and movement you choose to apply. For example, you can sweep with a broom brush; stamp with a thick rounded brush or even use a toothbrush, among others. Criss-cross: apply the first coat of Emae with a brush in a chosen direction then cross the second coat over it. Note that every stroke of your brush will remain visible once the paint would have set. Pull: apply the 2 first coats of Emae in the same way. While the paint is still wet, take a wide brush and pull it from top to bottom. Sponge: apply the second coat of Emae with a sponge lightly dipped in the paint. Other: allow your imagination and inspiration to run free and bring your personal touch to Emae. First experiment on small surfaces and wait for these to dry as the final result only becomes visible after complete drying. However, once you have settled for one method, it is essential to stick to it for the whole surface.

Chamarel, located in the south of Mauritius, is well known for its coloured earth. Chamarel evokes a voyage to the centre of the earth. Earth and fire merge, become magma, colours catch the flame and dissolve into one another. The soul of Mauritius is here. The soil of Chamarel evokes the genesis of our volcanic island and celebrates its multiple colours and textures. Natura’s Chamarel is an acrylic paint which creates the look and feel of naturally eroded rocks, weathered by wind and water. It presents a lightly textured finish which is ideal to cover up defects in masonry works such as fine cracks. Although Chamarel is best suited for exterior surfaces, it can also be used to enhance interior surfaces with its characteristic textured effect.

Navajo is located in New Mexico. It is the largest American Indian reserve of the United States. The landscape there, surrounded by splendid lakes, is amazing and just unique. Navajo country holds a wealth of cultures and traditions. In Navajo culture, artistic activity is closely linked with spirituality. The artistic expression of spirituality is believed to have therapeutic virtues. It is visually expressed for example through the geometrical patterns and bright colours of Navajo woven textile covers, in their ephemeral sand paintings. Higher artistry is what Natura’s Navajo communicates. It spreads thousands of matt yet brightly coloured minute marbles across the wall, bringing in the time-honoured artistry of Navajo sand paintings to your interior decor.

Rochester takes its inspiration from the basalt pillars found along the rugged coastline of the small island of Staffa. These have been cast ages back by the volcanic eruptions which gave birth to the island off the coast of Scotland in the Atlantic Ocean. In the Scots language, Staffa means "the island of pillars". The island is also known by the name of "melodious grotto", owing to the fact that the basalt pillars of the cliffs, plunging beneath the sea, have been sculpted over thousands of years into caves ‘playing music’ in tune with the rhythm of the sea. Rochester is a lightly textured acrylic paint producing the aspect of sandblasted rock. Its physical and visual texture makes it ideal to cover up minute cracks and surface irregularities. Rochester can be applied inside to enhance particular surfaces. It brings in that unique alliance between strength and smoothness which is typical of basaltic rocks enduringly eroded by the waves.

Allow to dry before applying the second coat using a brush this time and with a criss-cross movement. Work on small surfaces at time. Ensure the first coat is perfectly coated all over the surface by the second one. If you are seeking a mix of lighter and thicker texture, apply a third coat here and there. Note that the second coat should still be slightly wet when you apply the third coat, proceeding in the same way. The textured effect will be fully visible only 24 hours at least further to the application of the second coat.

Mauvitex is a beautifying mask in itself. This high quality acrylic coating will produce a smooth to lightly coarse textured finish. It is ideal to rejuvenate walls or ceilings that are revealing their imperfections or showing signs of ageing. It proves very effective to confer a solid personality right away to brand new surfaces.

Mauvilac Industries, Mauvitex

Surface Preparation
On new, absorbent, porous or powdery surfaces, apply a coat of Clear Emulsion Binder. This sealant ensures proper penetration and adherence of Mauvitex. For new surfaces it is better to apply a coat of white Mauvitop above the binder before applying Mauvitex. In any case, ensure that the surface is clean and dry.

Application Method
To obtain a thick texture, do not dilute Mauvitex. For medium texture do not add more than 10-15% water for dilution. One coat of Mauvitex is enough—to be applied on walls with a rough sponge roller, preferably. Ceilings can be coated using a flat trowel for a stretched out result. In any case, it is better to proceed with a test before application. Note that 1 litre Mauvitex can cover 2-4 m2 de surface. This rate remains however subject to the type of surface. Count 1-4 hours, depending on the thickness of the textured coat, before it becomes dry to touch. Mauvitex can be covered with a sealant—however not to be applied before 8 hours past further to the last coating with Mauvitex, in case of a medium texture and not before 24 hours for a thick texture.

Application Method
Do not dilute Mauviplast as it will change the texture. Note that 1 litre Mauviplast can cover 2-4 m2 de surface. This rate remains however subject to the type of surface. Apply a first coat with a smooth roller. Allow to dry a minimum of 45 minutes and ensure that Mauviplast is dry to touch before starting the second coat. This coat must be applied with a rough roller to create the textured finish. Note that Mauviplast does not require more than 2 coats and that the presence of siliceous particles can lead to varying thickness in the coating. Mauviplast can be covered with a sealant—however not to be applied before 8 hours past further to the last coating with Mauviplast.
